Balancing Left and Right Brain in Ketamine Therapy

Updated: 3 days ago

Transcript: Because this is a left-brain/right-brain approach—and that’s what I love about it, to be honest. One thing that I think makes us kind of special at The Drake Center is that we really operate from this place, especially in our integration therapies, of using both the left and right sides of the brain. So what does that mean? Bringing in the creative side—that’s the right side of the brain. Then, the other side is more analytical, focused on logistics and deeper thought. The way we’ve set this up is that each ketamine experience is followed by an integration session. During the six-session process, each patient alternates between a session with Dr. Drake and a session with me. That creates a really well-balanced way to integrate. You’re getting integration that speaks to both the left and right sides of the brain. The creative expression is huge—it allows people to express their insights and find ways to integrate those into their lives. We’ve found that our approach is pretty well-balanced, and it really supports whole-person healing.
